Research Luncheon & Seminar Series
The Research Luncheon & Seminar Series has ended for the Spring 2009 semester. Please check back in August for information about speakers for the 2009-1010 academic year.
About the Research luncheon series (RLS)
Throughout the Research Luncheon Series, faculty of the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering and invited guest speakers from both academia and industry, present their research topics for the benefit of current and prospective graduate students, alumni, and chemical engineering professionals. Research Luncheons are scheduled between 12 and 2 p.m. and the start time varies according to the Department class schedule. During each luncheon, speakers give a 30-45 minute presentation, immediately followed by a question and answer period. The Department provides pizza and soda from Valentino's for lunch. Typically there is no need to RSVP, however, pizza and soda are first-come, first-served. Interested students of any major, faculty, alumni, and members of AIChE are all encouraged to attend.
Research areas to be presented throughout this series include:
- Biocatalysis
- Biomaterials
- Biomedical Engineering
- Biomolecular Engineering
- Biotechnology
- Energy
- Environmental Engineering
- Heat Transfer
- Materials
- Modeling, Simulation & Theory
- Molecular Medicine
- Nanotechnology
- Polymers
- Reactors, Kinetics & Catalysis
- Separations
- Surface & Interface Science
- Thermodynamics
- Tissue Engineering
- Transport Phenomena, Fluid Mechanics & Fluid Dynamics
About the Seminar Series
Throughout the Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering Seminar Series, invited guest speakers present their research topics for the benefit of the general public. Current and prospective students, faculty, alumni, and chemical engineering professionals are all encouraged to attend. Typically seminars are scheduled for late afternoon and include a 45 minute presentation followed by a question and answer period and reception.
